Many Internet sites offer programs, music, movies and other files for downloading. Nevertheless, the downloading process can be slow due to many factors, such as the speed of our connection, the saturation of the lines and so on. Thus, a program that can accelerate the downloading would be very useful, especially when we need to download multiple or large files. This program allows you to create a list of files from HTTP, HTTPS and FTP servers and download them simultaneously. It also can download videos from popular video sharing sites like YouTube, and integrates itself with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and other Web browsers so when you need to download, say, an e-mail attachment, the program activates and downloads it automatically. You have the option of pausing and restart the download, and preview the file before finishing the downloading.
After comparing this downloader with other program of the same kind, I didn't find any significant differences regarding the speed of the downloading or the user-friendliness. There is a Pro version, supposedly with more features, but honestly, I still prefer using FDM, which is absolutely free.
Pros-Basic version is free.
The integrates itself with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and other browsers.
Cons-It does basically the same as several other free programs.
What's new in version 5.8 ?
The most important advantages of the new version are better performance, improved user interface and a number of new features including Remote Download plug-in. A few minor bugs have been fixed.
